Why live matters

You can replay content.
You can't replay being there.

YouTube can be skipped. Podcasts can be fast-forwarded. Recorded content waits until the audience feels like consuming it.

Live is different. That is one reason live sport remains some of the most valuable media in the world.

The value is not simply seeing what happened. It is experiencing it while it happens, together with everyone else.

The on-demand side of LIVERUN: 327 recorded sessions, watchable whenever the viewer feels like it. That is the thing live is being measured against.

LIVERUN takes this one step further. Our audience does not simply listen live.

Real-time experience creates a special bond.

On a recording, that is content. When Yuki is actually running, it is an experience.

LIVERUN isn't live audio.
It is live participation.

Not a media spot

A commercial buys a moment.
A partnership earns a place in the community.

Traditional media measures exposure. How many people saw it? How many people heard it? How many impressions did we buy?

LIVERUN starts with a different question: what happens when the same community repeatedly experiences a brand over time?

  1. A trainer introduces an idea.
  2. Runners respond. Questions emerge.
  3. People discuss what they experienced. The topic appears again.
  4. Familiarity builds. Some people try the product.
  5. Some like it. Some do not. Some recommend it to other runners.

Live creates relationships.
Relationships create influence.

You don't build a community in 30 minutes.

LIVERUN partnerships are built around twelve months because community influence is fundamentally different from campaign advertising.

A single advertisement can create awareness. Repeated experiences create familiarity. Familiarity creates trust. Trust creates the conditions for authentic word of mouth.

What LIVERUN already has

Hundreds of real opinions.
Every day.

Every LIVERUN session begins and ends with questions. Participants answer before they run. They answer after they run. They comment during sessions. They talk with each other inside the LIVERUN community.

With approximately 5–7 sessions every day, LIVERUN continuously generates something increasingly difficult to manufacture: authentic Japanese human signals.

The LIVERUN app home screen showing a day's scheduled live sessions with CLUB tags, and special sessions below them
A single day in the LIVERUN app. Every one of these sessions opens and closes with questions.
Pre-run question

Which trail-running shoes do you trust most?

Post-run question

What causes you the most discomfort during a long run?

What do you look for when buying running headphones?
Which sports drink do you actually purchase?
What do you dislike about carbon-plated shoes?
What is the biggest problem with hydration belts?
What makes a running shoe feel stable after 25 km?

Most companies have to commission consumer research.
LIVERUN is listening to runners every day.

Trust requires privacy

What happens inside LIVERUN stays inside LIVERUN.

LIVERUN is not going to turn private member conversations into public advertising.

Pre-run responses · Post-run responses · 掲示板 posts · Internal chat · Community conversations

These remain inside the LIVERUN environment according to our privacy and community policies.

That privacy matters. People speak differently inside a trusted community than they do when they believe every comment is being published for the world to see.

  1. Private community
  2. Anonymized signals
  3. Verified intelligence
  4. AI-ready evidence

We don't make private conversations public.
We make their collective intelligence useful.

First-party community intelligence

Turn thousands of human signals into useful intelligence.

  1. Ask Selected questions are introduced naturally across relevant LIVERUN sessions.
  2. Listen We collect responses and identify recurring themes across the community.
  3. Verify Where relevant, respondent credibility can be supported by actual LIVERUN activity.
  4. Aggregate Individual conversations remain private. Patterns become data.
  5. Analyze We identify preferences, problems, comparisons, emerging questions and differences between runner segments.
  6. Report Partners receive structured intelligence rather than a pile of anonymous comments.

Behavior builds credibility

We know who actually runs.

Anyone can say they are a runner online. LIVERUN has behavioral history.

For selected research and product-experience programs, we can apply qualification criteria such as:

100+ km recorded
3+ months active on LIVERUN

Future segmentation may include: 500 km+ · 1,000 km+ · Marathon experience · Trail-running experience · Running frequency · Age group · Long-term membership · Relevant product usage

From search to AI

Yelp built credibility around human experience.
LIVERUN can do the same for runners.

During the search era, Yelp became valuable because it contained something a business's own website could not provide: real consumer experience.

The Yelp Elite community added another layer. These were established contributors with history and reputation inside a real community.

The deeper lesson was not simply that reviews helped websites rank. It was this: human experience becomes more valuable when you can establish who produced it and why that person's opinion deserves attention.

LIVERUN has a different way of establishing credibility. Not: how many followers do you have?

But: do you actually run?

The information problem has changed

Content is no longer scarce.
Credible human data is.

Brands can publish unlimited claims about themselves. Generative AI can produce thousands of articles in minutes. Creating more content is increasingly easy.

Establishing that information came from authentic human experience is much harder.

At the same time, AI is increasingly becoming an information customer.

People are no longer only searching for webpages. They are asking:

What shoes should I buy?
Which product is best for my situation?
What do experienced runners actually think?
Which brand should I trust?

The opportunity is therefore not simply to generate more traffic. It is to build credible information that helps AI systems better understand the category, the consumer and the brand.

Brand claim

“Our shoe is ideal for long-distance runners.”

Verified human signal

Responses: 524 Respondents with 100+ recorded LIVERUN km: 341 Repeated theme: “Stability after 20–25 km was more important than shoe weight.”

AI doesn't need another marketing claim.
It needs better evidence.

LIVERUN creates structured, provenance-rich Japanese runner intelligence designed for the AI era. We do not claim to control what independent AI systems say, and a LIVERUN partnership does not guarantee citations or recommendations.

AI-ready human intelligence

From private human signals to structured evidence.

LIVERUN does not simply dump private community conversations onto the public internet. Instead, selected signals can be transformed into anonymized, aggregated and structured intelligence.

Connected to the people who shaped Japanese running

Built with the support of Toshihiko Seko.

LIVERUN's community extends beyond everyday runners. For years, some of Japan's most respected athletes, coaches and sports leaders have joined LIVERUN live — sharing their experience directly with runners across Japan.

At the center of this network is LIVERUN Partner Toshihiko Seko.

2× Boston Marathon champion

1981 & 1987

Toshihiko Seko is one of the most celebrated marathon runners in Japanese history and a long-term partner and supporter of LIVERUN.

Through Seko and LIVERUN's broader network in Japanese sport, the platform has welcomed an extraordinary group of elite athletes, Olympic medalists, coaches and sports personalities into its live community.

Community credibility cannot be bought overnight.

A new platform can buy advertisements. An agency can hire influencers. But a community that Japan's running world will actually turn up for takes years to build. LIVERUN has spent eight of them building it.

We've been building communities with brands for years.

LIVERUN created repeated experiences before, during and around the event through live sessions, marathon preparation, on-demand content, virtual challenges and real-world participation.

The goal wasn't to advertise race day.
It was to make Honolulu part of runners' lives throughout the year.

Product / running shoes

Descente × LIVERUN

The Descente work ran as community programmes rather than placements.

ライブラン総選挙 — a community vote run with Descente in 2021 — put the brand inside something runners took part in, not something they were shown. A second programme was built around Descente's GENTEN line.

Don't just show runners the shoe.
Let the community experience the thinking behind it.

Running product experience

Runshot × LIVERUN

Runshot ran across live sessions built around the product and the people behind it — including sessions with an invited coach, where the conversation was training and longevity rather than the drink itself.

The 2023 campaign line was 「サステナブルに走り続ける」 — to keep running, sustainably.

Product exposure becomes runner conversation.

Three things partners buy.

01

Live influence

Become part of a recurring live community, not another media buy. LIVERUN gives your brand repeated opportunities to join useful conversations, answer real runner questions, introduce your people and technology, and build familiarity over time — creating the conditions for authentic word of mouth.

02

Runner intelligence

Learn directly from the people you are trying to reach. Through pre-run and post-run questions, live participation and community activity, LIVERUN turns thousands of private human signals into aggregated insight about preferences, frustrations, purchase drivers, category perceptions and emerging needs.

03

AI evidence

Turn verified human experience into structured intelligence for the AI era. LIVERUN combines runner activity, aggregated community signals and AI visibility analysis to build a growing body of credible Japanese evidence — while keeping individual member conversations private.

AI evidence

AI evidence map

At onboarding, LIVERUN identifies important Japanese questions around the brand and category. We assess what AI currently understands, which competitors appear, what information appears weak or absent, and what we should ask the community.

AI visibility monitoring

Up to 50 priority Japanese prompts

Tracked across selected major AI environments. Reporting may include brand mentions, competitor mentions, recommendations, brand representation, source patterns, information gaps and share of model where appropriate.

Monitoring is not the core product. The results help determine which questions LIVERUN should investigate next with real runners.

Annual AI-ready evidence package

Delivered at the end of the year

A structured body of aggregated LIVERUN intelligence generated during the partnership. May include research findings, methodology, sample sizes, verified respondent criteria, category insights, brand-related observations, runner-segment analysis, key questions and repeated themes.

Raw private member conversations are not included.

Authenticity only works if we protect it.

LIVERUN does not guarantee

  • Positive reviews
  • Positive community comments
  • Organic social posts
  • AI citations
  • AI recommendations
  • Specific sales volume
  • Specific survey response volume

A partnership increases the opportunity for runners to understand, experience and discuss a brand. It does not buy their opinion.

Sponsorship creates opportunity.
It does not determine the answer.

Questions.

Is LIVERUN Partners an advertising service?

Not in the conventional sense. The program combines live community participation, runner intelligence and AI evidence. The objective is not to sell a fixed number of impressions.

Can companies already operating in Japan participate?

Yes. The program is available based on product and community fit, not company headquarters.

Do you publish individual runner answers?

No. Private community responses remain private unless separate permission has been obtained. LIVERUN primarily works with aggregated and anonymized intelligence.

Do you publish the LIVERUN 掲示板 or private chat?

No. They remain part of the private LIVERUN community.

How does LIVERUN “feed AI”?

LIVERUN turns selected human signals into structured, provenance-rich intelligence grounded in real runner activity. We also monitor how major AI systems understand relevant categories, brands and questions so we can identify information gaps and determine what should be investigated next with real runners. As AI platforms create additional mechanisms for trusted proprietary and licensed datasets, LIVERUN intends to make this evidence layer increasingly useful to those systems. We do not claim to directly control or train third-party AI models.

Why monitor 50 AI prompts?

Monitoring is not the product. It tells us what AI knows today, what it does not know, which competitors are winning, and which questions LIVERUN should investigate with real runners next.

Do you guarantee that ChatGPT or another AI service will recommend our product?

No. Independent AI systems determine their own answers.

Are runners paid to praise products?

No. Product participation may sometimes involve samples or other disclosed incentives, but LIVERUN does not purchase positive opinions.

Can we purchase a one-time campaign?

LIVERUN separately offers custom partnership programs for organizations looking for individual campaigns, events or bespoke activations. The annual LIVERUN Partners program is a different product.

Why twelve months?

Because the objective is community familiarity, repeated human signals and accumulated intelligence — not a short advertising burst.

Live creates trust.
Trust creates human signals.
Human signals become intelligence.
Intelligence matters in the AI era.

Join LIVERUN for one year and build a real relationship with Japan's running community while creating a proprietary body of Japanese runner intelligence around your category and brand.
